This post is not meant to add to the recent spate of bad press that manufacturers in China are having, in fact it appears that a lot of reports are extremely biased, but when dealing with health supplements and skin products your supplier must be 110% bona fide and know what the heck they are doing.

Presently our concern with new manufacturers in China is that they are starting up and expanding at a phenomenal rate. No problem if it's clay gnomes for the garden pond being mass produced but this rate of growth means something has to take a back seat and we can't take a gamble on what safeguards and procedures are in place.

We receive many emails from manufacturers around the world but now I would say that we are receiving anything from 10 - 20 daily either promoting new products or serving as introductions from new manufacturers.

Here's just one example... An electronic company specializing in air purifiers and digital voice recorders have now started supplying medicines and health supplements. From a product line of 32 electronic products they now have 1 medicine and 1 diet supplement which they are supplying to North America, Western Europe and Australasia. There are plans to expand.

The cost of the supplement is ridiculously cheap so it's a safe
bet that this will be flooding Ebay and the rest of the Internet

Dietary and health supplements undergo little or no testing for approval purposes by the FDA anyway and with no, at present, effective Chinese government regulations or watchdogs checking up on these manufacturers, it appears that the risks to health and the likelihood of purchasing fake health supplements are only going to increase.

The logistics of setting up a factory for just one product line, in the above case electronics, is a huge task in itself. To diversify into a similar but related field is readily understood but to start manufacturing medicines and supplements takes a lot to comprehend because this is not where the expertise of the company lies.

Unfortunately for the majority of people buying supplements online, they will have no idea what is going on behind the scenes of the industry and as long as the online vendors come up with a half decent sales page promising everlasting life and instant weight loss these potentially dangerous products will flood the market.
